Trout Fishing Photogravure by Douglas Adams.
A large, signed photogravure depicting an atmospheric Highland fishing scene, reproduced from the original painting by Douglas Adams. The composition shows a fisherman standing in a rowing boat, his line taut as he reels in a catch, while his companion sits at the oars.
This fine engraving is mounted and signed in pencil by Douglas Adams in the lower left margin. It is an Artist's Proof and also bears the blind stamp of the Print Sellers Association. Taken from the original painting by the celebrated British artist Douglas Adams (1853-1920), this superb photogravure beautifully captures the character and atmosphere of Highland angling. Set against a dramatic landscape, the scene portrays two fishermen in action: one standing in the boat with a tight line as he plays his catch, while the other remains at the oars.
Adams' masterful handling of light, composition, and detail brings both energy and atmosphere to the image, making it an outstanding example of late nineteenth-century sporting art.
