Vintage A.C.U. Racing Motorcycle Crash Helmet by Everoak.
A superb vintage Everoak motorcycle crash helmet of classic pudding-basin form, made in England and finished in black paint. The helmet features a distinctive chequered flag design around the base, while the front is boldly lettered "Norton" in white. A striking white trident-star motif follows the curve of the helmet above the Norton name, sweeping gracefully towards the rear and ending in three points and the Norton name once more.
The helmet retains its original cork-lined interior, fitted with a leather headband and support straps designed to maintain a gap between the wearer's head and the outer shell. It is also fitted with strong leather neck and ear flaps, together with a chin strap. Inside is an Everoak cloth trade label, along with the British Kitemark (BS 1869).
This is an A.C.U. approved racing helmet, with the leather bearing the A.C.U. perforation mark.
A very good example in used condition, this helmet is both a fantastic display piece and an evocative reminder of classic British motorcycle racing. The internal circumference measures approximately 56½ cm.
