A first edition (1887) hard bound copy with leather spine and original pictorial paper covered boards. Front cover with an image of the winter medal of the "Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers" and the title 'The Art Of Golf'. Rear board with an image of four golf balls, one feathery and three mesh balls, one being 'The Eclipse Patent'. Boards slightly discoloured, spine with gilt title 'The Art Of Golf By Sir W.G. Simpson, Bart, Edinburgh MDCCCLXXXVII' and in great condition. As far as we can ascertain all 186 pages are there plus adverts, and are clean and clear apart from slight foxing to edges, gilt edge to top of the pages.
