Antique Oak Folding Library Steps Stool
A very hard-to-find pair of antique oak metamorphic library steps come stool, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Crafted from solid oak, this piece is both robust and aesthetically pleasing, designed for everyday use as well as display.
The stool cleverly converts from a compact seat into a practical set of three fold-out steps, making it an ideal space-saving solution for accessing high shelves in a library, study or kitchen. When fully open, it measures approximately 55 cm, and the top features a useful carry slot for easy movement. The three steps are brass-bound, heavy, sturdy, and beautifully proportioned, this was a genuine 19th-century working piece of furniture, functional, honest, and built to last.
With its dark rich colour, charming patina, and timeless design, this metamorphic stool/steps is a striking example of period craftsmanship and a highly desirable addition to any traditional or eclectic interior.
