Railway Carriage Luggage Rack.
A superb and authentic railway carriage luggage rack dating from around 1930. These wonderful, untouched examples feature cast aluminium end brackets supporting two tiers, each fitted with wire mesh inserts. The upper shelf was originally designed for luggage, while the lower rack was intended for hats and smaller items.
These polished racks retain their original character and charm and would have originally been mounted above a passenger's seat in a train carriage. A great piece of locomotive history, they now make striking and practical storage for the home-ideal for hallways, kitchens, man caves or garages as unique wall-mounted shelving.
Condition is good and solid, with wear consistent with age. Each rack shows slight variations in finish, adding to their individuality. Ready to mount and use.
