This beautifully crafted 5" Frogback Fishing Reel is a traditional centre pin sea reel, combining classic English engineering with timeless angling appeal. Constructed from rich walnut with a distinctive brass frogback design, this vintage-style reel features a brass back plate and internal brass backing ring for added durability and strength.
The front plate incorporates a 4-screw brass centre plate fitted with a Slater quick-release drum catch, providing smooth and practical operation. Twin wooden handles are mounted on brass eye plates, complementing the reel's authentic period styling and traditional craftsmanship.
The brass frogback is unmarked, although its construction and design closely resemble reels produced by Millward's of Redditch during the early to mid-20th century.
Designed as a 5" twin-handle centre pin reel, it also features an optional check mechanism, tension screw and a brake. The frogback securely fixed to the internal brass plate. Depth measurements exclude the handles; please allow an additional 3 cm for handle projection.
A fine example of a traditional British-made frogback reel, ideal for collectors, vintage tackle enthusiasts, or anglers seeking classic period fishing equipment.
