A superb and rather unusual antique silver-plated equestrian cruet set of exceptional quality, beautifully designed around the traditional world of horse riding and hunting. A wonderful example of novelty sporting tableware, full of character, charm and delightful attention to detail.
The set features two wonderfully modelled riding boots, one forming the salt dish and the other the pepper shaker. Each boot has been carefully crafted with realistic detailing, including the shaped toes, heels and decorative stitching, giving them a particularly lifelike appearance. The tops of the boots are fitted with silver-plated caps, one pierced for dispensing seasoning.
Positioned in front of the boots is a charming miniature riding hat, cleverly fashioned as a mustard pot. The hat is accompanied by a delightful little spoon with its handle modelled as a riding crop. A second matching riding crop spoon completes the set, adding another lovely touch to the equestrian theme.
