William Woodhouse Oil on Board, Tigress and Cubs.
A charming late Victorian oil on board by the British sporting and wildlife artist William Woodhouse (1857-1939), depicting a tigress resting with her two cubs in a natural woodland setting.
The tigress is shown lying amongst the long grasses and undergrowth, with one cub nestled beside her and another resting in the foreground. A wonderfully atmospheric wildlife painting, with lovely warm autumnal colouring and fine detail to the animals and surrounding foliage.
The painting is signed 'W. Woodhouse' to the lower left-hand corner and is presented in a decorative gilt frame.
A very appealing and decorative Victorian animal painting, particularly suited to a country house interior or a collection of sporting and wildlife art.

Frame size: 33 cm high x 43 cm wide.
